Plans are well underway for the 2008 President's Cup, August 18th - August 23rd, being hosted this year by the reigning President's Cup Champions - the Sherwood Park Outlaws. The President's Cup event, which is the national championship for Senior B lacrosse, will be filled with a week of action packed games and activities for all to enjoy.

Sherwood Park, Alberta is recognized in the Guiness Book of World Records as the "World's Largest Hamlet." Located a very short 3 kilometre drive from the east boundary of Edmonton, this hamlet is Alberta's fourth largest municipality and boasts an urban population of about 60,000 people. It has the third highest per capita income in the province and features all of the amenities found in large centres.

The Sherwood Park Arena, home floor for the Outlaws, will be the venue for all of the games. The arena is very well suited for the President's Cup and offers unobstructed viewing of the games from all seating. A very clean and well maintained facility, it is surrounded by parks, walking trails and the beautiful Broadmoor Lake. There is a golf course across the street and a terrific Farmer's Market is held each Wednesday evening on the plaza, featuring local fresh food products and handicrafts.

The Four Points Sheraton Hotel has been chosen as the host hotel for the entire tournament. A special tournament room rate has been arranged. We encourage early reservation to ensure the excellent rate. The access code and hotel link is available on our website at <a href="http://www.sherwoodparkoutlaws.com">www.sherwoodparkoutlaws.com</a&g
t;. The hotel is located very near the eastern boundary of Edmonton and provides direct access to the Sherwood Park Freeway. It will take just minutes to get to the arena. There are great amenities nearby, including restaurants, a casino, entertainment and convenience services.

Further information and updates are available on our website at <a href="http://www.sherwoodparkoutlaws.com">www.sherwoodparkoutlaws.com</a&g

We're really looking forward to providing you with our hospitality at the 2008 President's Cup and invite you to make it a holiday in Alberta. After the completion of our festivities, it's just a short 2.5 hour drive down the QE II highway to Calgary and join in the fun for the Minto Cup being held the following week. Or you can stay in the Edmonton area and watch the First Nations Cup and Alumni Cup Field Lacrosse Championships on August 29th - August 31st. Either way, it will be a terrific couple of weeks of championship lacrosse in Alberta.
